Featuring the original illustrations by Andre Derain and Aubrey Beardsley, including the suppressed Beardsley illustrations from 1894.
At the time Oscar Wilde wrote his controversial play about the woman whose dance for King Herod cost John the Baptist his head, British law forbade depicting Biblical characters on stage. The play was first written in French with illustrations by Andre Derain.

When an English language edition was eventually permitted, the artist Aubrey Beardsley created images that were so racy that three had to be excluded from future editions.

This two-volume leather-bound slipcased set recreates the beautiful Limited Editions Club edition of 1938 – offering both the French and English versions along with all the illustrations of Beardsley and Derain.

A Deluxe Limited Edition of just 600.
