About the Books

The Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece…

Few authors and works are as honored as Robert A. Caro and his monumental multi-volume biography of President Lyndon Baines Johnson.

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, National Book Award, and two National Book Critics Circle Awards, Caro's thrilling four book epic is one of the great political biographies, both a literary masterpiece of Shakespearean power and an unprecedented exploration of how power works in America.

Now, Easton Press is proud to present: Robert A. Caro's THE YEARS OF LYNDON JOHNSON, an exclusive four leather-bound volume Collector Edition’s that features the opening volume, The Path to Power, personally signed by the author, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, Robert A. Caro.

“At the summit of American historical writing.” – The Washington Post

Monstrous in his ambition, need, ruthlessness, energy, and ego but also heroic in his passion for social justice and idealistic vision of government, Caro's Lyndon Johnson is an unforgettable figure, a man who mastered the mechanisms of power and then used power to become the century's greatest white champion of racial equality.

Johnson's journey from poverty in early 20th century Texas to the White House in the turbulent 1960's is also the story of an America struggling to escape racism and fulfill the promise of equality for all.

“Shakespearean,” writes the The New York Times. “A breathtakingly dramatic story [told] with consummate artistry and ardor.” “One of America’s most amazing literary achievements,” declares NPR. “By writing the best presidential biography the country has ever seen, Caro has forever changed the way we think, and read, American history.”

An opportunity to own the autograph of a towering literary figure.

Robert A. Caro won his first Pulitzer Prize with his 1974 debut book, The Power Broker, and today he is regarded as, in the words of the Times of London,“The greatest political biographer of our times.” Recipient of almost every major literary honor as well as the National Humanities Medal, Caro is a unique figure whose signature is already prized by collectors and will be especially valued on, The Path to Power, the opening volume of his landmark Lyndon Johnson biography.
