In 1909, Harvard University president Charles W. Eliot conceived of publishing a small library of books that would contain all the most important works that a well-educated person should know. The set of books came to be known as The Harvard Classics and was designed to fit on a single five-foot shelf. With only a few copies of selected titles remaining, these are sure to sell out quickly!
