His 1697 edition of the classic works of great Roman poet Virgil is available here as an Easton Press leather-bound edition.  This presents Virgil's three great works -- the Pastorals, the Georgics, and the Aeneid -- in John Dryden’s acclaimed translation, along with a wealth of breathtaking etchings from a late 17th-century master.

A facsimile re-creation of the remarkable 1697 Jacob Tonson London Edition. Translated from the Latin into English Verse by renowned English poet John Dryden (England's first Poet Laureate).  Strictly limited to 800 copies.

This generously sized volume includes the Pastorals, Georgics and Aeneid of Virgil.  Tonson illustrated the book with the sumptuous plates that had been done by Wenceslaus Hollar, whose harmonious landscapes and precise renderings are remarkable for their virtuosity and detail.  There are ten etchings in the Pastorals, twenty in the Georgics, and seventy-one in the Aeneid.

Printed and bound in the United States of America. Printed on Cougar Opaque Natural paper with marbled endpages.  Fully bound in Italian cowhide leather.
